## How to get into The Wall Street Journal
- **Op-Eds (Opinion commentary)**: Bylined opinion articles from outside contributors on the Journal's Opinion pages. The Journal asks for a strong argument about an issue in the news; responses to a Journal article are treated as letters, not op-eds. Email the article in the body of the message (not as an attachment) to the Editorial Features Editor at edit.features@wsj.com, with a cover note briefly summarizing the article and the author's day and evening phone numbers. The WSJ Customer Center also lists edit.features@wsj.com as the contact for the Opinion or Editorial Page. Must be exclusive to the Journal. Preferred length 400 to 1,000 jargon-free words. The Journal contacts authors of timely articles it wants as soon as possible; for articles it cannot use it says it will respond within 10 business days, and asks writers not to call to confirm receipt or check status before 10 business days have passed. Accepted authors must sign a contract giving the Journal exclusive rights to the article for 30 days after publication. - **Contact the newsroom**: General email contact for the Journal's news department, alongside direct contact with individual reporters. Email wsjcontact@wsj.com (linked as 'the newsroom' on the About Us page), or contact a reporter directly by phone or email as the tips page notes is possible. The Journal says emails will be read by an appropriate member of staff but it cannot guarantee a response, because of volume and because a message may concern a matter outside the news department's purview. The Customer Center lists wsjcontact@wsj.com for corrections and feedback rather than as a dedicated story-pitch address. Official page: https://www.wsj.com/about-us
- **Letters to the Editor**: Short reader letters that respond to a particular and recent WSJ article, published on the Opinion pages. If responding to an editorial-page article (editorial, opinion column, op-ed, book review or arts review), email wsj.ltrs@wsj.com; responses to other articles go to the news department at readersfeedback@wsj.com. Put the headline and publication date of the article you are responding to in the subject line and paste the letter into the body of the email. The Customer Center also lists a postal address: Editor, The Wall Street Journal, 1211 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036. Must be exclusive to the Journal and not published elsewhere. Shorter is better; the Journal cites the 272-word Gettysburg Address as the limit, and that count includes your name, location (city, state) and the reference to the original article. End the email with your real name, city, state and phone number; anonymous letters are not published. Letters are edited for length, grammar, style and interest. The Journal tries to read every letter but cannot publish or respond to all of them; publication of selected letters can take a week or two. - **WSJ Tips**: Ways to send news tips or documents to Journal reporters, including secure and anonymous options. Postal mail to Marcelo Prince, investigations editor, The Wall Street Journal, 1211 Avenue of the Americas, 6th floor, New York, NY 10036; Signal to 347-413-0496; or SecureDrop via the Tor address listed on the tips page. Tipsters may also contact reporters directly by phone or email. The Journal says the most useful tips are detailed, include some documentation and suggest people it could contact to verify the information. If you want a reply, choose one of the secure methods. Messages are checked regularly but replies may be delayed, and the Journal may not respond to all messages. Official page: https://www.wsj.com/tips

## Is a placement here worth pursuing?
It depends on the questions your buyers ask. Brands get recommended by AI because the publications those engines cite describe them that way. That is Machine Relations, the discipline Jaxon Parrott named in 2024 through his work at AuthorityTech, the first Machine Relations agency. Coverage in The Wall Street Journal moves your brand in AI answers where the publication is already cited for the question your buyer asks, and much less where it is not.
## How this is measured
Every figure is the Machine Relations Index's, carried with its own denominator. AuthorityTech does not compute them. Release 2026-10-06, methodology mri_score_v2.0.
Window: 2026-05-10 to 2026-10-06, 143 days of collection.
Evidence floor for a published rank: 10 observations across 7 collection dates.
