## How to get into Fortune
- **Commentary**: Fortune's Commentary section publishes opinion pieces from outside contributors on issues facing the business world. Fortune's pitching page lists a dedicated Commentary editor as the contact for this section. Email a pitch to the Commentary editor listed on Fortune's 'How to pitch a freelance story to Fortune' page: Mohamed El-Aassar (mohamed.elaassar@fortune.com). The pitching page asks for a succinct pitch of less than 500 words explaining why the idea is original, why it matters, why it is urgent now and why you are the person to write it, with a few links to past work. It says Fortune does not review pre-written articles. No separate commentary length, exclusivity or response-time policy is stated. Commentary pieces carry a note that the opinions are solely those of their authors. - **How to pitch a freelance story to Fortune**: Fortune works with freelance journalists on original reported stories. Its areas of interest include finance, technology, health, crypto, workplace and careers, politics, leadership and wellness. Email the pitch to the section editor listed on the page: Features (matt.heimer@fortune.com, indrani.sen@fortune.com or claire.zillman@fortune.com); Finance (lee.clifford@fortune.com); Cryptocurrency, NFTs and blockchain (jeff.roberts@fortune.com); Personal finance/e-commerce (jasmine.suarez@fortune.com); Technology (alexei.oreskovic@fortune.com); Health and wellness (jennifer.fields@fortune.com). Pitch of less than 500 words with specifics: who you want to feature and why, what is at stake, overlap with recent competing coverage and your fresh angle, what access you have, how much reporting is done, time and resources needed, planned length, and a few links to past work. Fortune does not review pre-written articles. Response time is not stated. - **Fortune Lists Calendar (list nominations)**: Fortune publishes a calendar of its rankings and lists with publication dates and, where open, links to nomination forms. Some lists accept nominations through forms on fortune.com, for example the Fortune Cyber 60 (venture-backed cybersecurity startups), Change the World (companies with social impact through their core business) and the Future 120 (with Boston Consulting Group). Use the list-specific submission link on the Fortune Lists Calendar page, or email analytics@fortune.com for other list submissions. Nomination forms are hosted at fortune.com/form/ (for example https://fortune.com/form/cyber-60-2026/). Deadlines vary by list and the calendar says dates are subject to shift. Cyber 60 nominations for the 2027 list were due Oct. 5, 2026 and the form says submission does not guarantee inclusion. The 2026 Change the World form says readers may nominate companies and companies may nominate themselves; it is now closed. The 2026 Future 120 form is closed and says finalists are notified by email at least two weeks before publication. No fee is stated on these forms. Official page: https://fortune.com/lists-calendar/
- **Most Powerful Women list nominations**: Fortune's annual global ranking of 100 women business executives. Fortune invites outside nominations each year in its Most Powerful Women newsletter, alongside its own research and reporting. For the 2026 list, email the nomination to mpwlist2026@fortune.com with the executive's name, title, reporting line, responsibilities and headcount, country, bio, company revenue and profit (and division figures if relevant), accomplishments since May 2025, and descriptions of her influence, innovation and use of power. The 2026 deadline was Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026 (the 2026 list was published May 27, 2026). Keep the nomination under about 800 words. Submit separate nominations for each executive. Private-company financials can be marked confidential. Fortune does not confirm receipt and does not notify candidates who do not make the list. A nomination is not required to make the list. - **Great Place to Work lists (Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces lists)**: Fortune publishes the 100 Best Companies to Work For and a series of Best Workplaces lists in partnership with Great Place to Work. Fortune's lists calendar directs companies to Great Place to Work to be considered. Submit your company through Great Place to Work's 'Get on a List' page, linked from the Fortune Lists Calendar. Companies survey employees with the Trust Index and complete a Culture Brief to become Great Place To Work-Certified. Great Place to Work states that, in general, eligible U.S. companies have at least 10 full- or part-time employees and are Certified as of the list deadline; some lists require 50 or more employees. Certified companies are automatically considered for its Best Workplace lists for 12 months. Cost is not stated on the pages checked. Official page: https://www.greatplacetowork.com/best-workplaces/get-on-a-list
- **Fortune conferences: Speaker Nomination Form**: Fortune hosts by-invitation-only live and virtual meetings and membership communities for business leaders. Individual event sites list a speaker nomination form under 'Speaker inquiries'. Use the 'Speaker Nomination Form' link on the relevant event's page on conferences.fortune.com (for example the Fortune COO Summit 2026 page links to a Microsoft Forms nomination form). Fortune states its conferences are by invitation only. Selection criteria and response policy are not stated. Official page: https://conferences.fortune.com/event/Fortune-COO-Summit-2026/agenda

## Is a placement here worth pursuing?
It depends on the questions your buyers ask. Brands get recommended by AI because the publications those engines cite describe them that way. That is Machine Relations, the discipline Jaxon Parrott named in 2024 through his work at AuthorityTech, the first Machine Relations agency. Coverage in Fortune moves your brand in AI answers where the publication is already cited for the question your buyer asks, and much less where it is not.
## How this is measured
Every figure is the Machine Relations Index's, carried with its own denominator. AuthorityTech does not compute them. Release 2026-10-06, methodology mri_score_v2.0.
Window: 2026-05-10 to 2026-10-06, 143 days of collection.
Evidence floor for a published rank: 10 observations across 7 collection dates.
